Hello everybody,
I am now based in Cairo for the time being. I am looking forward to storytelling on the Nile and in the desert under the canopy of stars that have inspired so much already. I have been creating new work and hope to show this in later this year. My new book 'Eternity's Children' should be ready in time for Christmas, and I have begun work on the next one. I will post events in Cairo as they happen so keep a look out for readings and workshops or contact me on the email address below. I shall be in the UK again in December so do contact me soon to arrange readings or commissions needed for that time.
My email is as always: info@thedreamingpages.com , my Egyptian mobile is 002 01699 250 67.

What can I say?! I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. It was wonderful to read to faces known and faces new, a lovely audience. The musicians gave the stories a music they love to dance to - which they have been calling for for SO long. So, big thanks to the musicians, Phil Dale, Matt Kelly and Will Fearless who played between them, bassoon, violin, flute, guitar, mandolin, didge and percussion. I read of the meeting of the stars and the earth that once was, the fading of that time and of its return in the lights that shine behind the eyes of those who go to meet the call.
Genie has a wonderful space at The Lotus Foundation (info on the links page) and there was food and wine at the interval. Mark taped it and got a good recording so there may be a CD available soon. I am currently working on another one in the mean time, which I hope will be ready with the next book “Eternity’s Children.” It will have a blend of stories read with music and woven sounds collected from the Sinai desert.
I hope this reading with live music to be the first of many. Thanks to all who came on the night, it couldn’t have been a busier one: Autumn Equinox, Jewish New Year, New Moon etc. Sorry to those who didn’t make it, you were missed, but there will be more…..
'Our hands must endevour to know the Earth, and reach for the highest will of Heaven,
It is time to share the secret,
it is time to shed the sadness,
for the old ways live on through the new.'
Womens Centre for Health, Zamalek - February 2006
February 2006 has brought my first story telling to the African continent. - hopefully the first of many. Here are some photo's of that lovely evening.
Thanks to Leslie Zehr, who runs the wonderful 'Women's Group for Health' at her centre in Zamalek, I was able to read at one of the pot-luck evenings that she holds once a month. My paintings have been on the walls there for many years now so I was able to read by candle light beneath them in a room filled with roses.
For me it was fantastic to be able to read in Egypt and return the stories home that have been inspired by the country itself.
I will be reading in Egypt in March 2006 so contact me via the 'cards' page for dates and times. * * *
Book Launch - Story Telling Event
Saturday December 17th 2005 3-6pm, £5.Watkins Books, Cecil Court, Charing Cross, London
To celebrate The Mother of Stars, the first book in a series of many, I am doing a storytelling: a weaving of tales and tapestries of times and wisdoms long forgotton. The book will be available, and post cards and greetings cards. People say it is a good Christmas gift.
There will be paintings, live music and cups of tea and chocolate. As this is the first celebration of this kind, there will be a special surprise for all who book a seat. Email me to reserve a place: info@thedreamingpages.com .
The Star Stork.
“By shadow of sun and light of moon,A star stork sings a liquid tune,
Of places bright and far away,
Of babes that might be born this day…”
This is a collaboration with American writer Heather Lynne King in San Francisco. This is us recording an audio version of the story with her fiancé Khenu at his studio.
Story Tellings
This year I have begun to do story tellings and readings. I started them during the exhibition at The Institute of Noetic Sciences in Petaluma while I had my work there in the summer. I was lucky to meet and work with musician Buddy Comfort who played zither and guitar while I read from my book The Mother of Stars.
The Midnight Message
This was a reading done at midnight, by candlelight in a tent in the hills of Hastings at Tribal Earth festival, Summer 2005. Angela sat with her harp which was a gracious prescence. I love harps. It was great to read to so many old and dear friends. From this event I am putting together a book called The Midnight Message: gathered wisdoms that fell from the arms of Night.
Thank You’s
There are so many. Always I am thankful for the support and prescence of people that help, listen, inspire, challenge and laugh. Those people who appear as lights on the journey I am lucky to have met them.
